Tutpup.com: Online Spelling and Math CompetitionsTutpup.com is a free educational website that allows kids to play timed math or spelling games against competitors from around the world- in real time! Tutpup.com is geared toward children ages 5 to 14, and it also has great potential for use in the classroom. |
No Registration Required
Upon visiting the site, you will be given the option to either Login or Join Now; however, you can still play without doing either of these things. Simply click on one of the following categories: Maths 101, Maths Mix, Algebra, Times Tables, or Spelling. You can then specify the type (operation) and level (difficulty). Once you've selected the category, type, and level, your game will begin. You will be thrilled to see your icon and flag move closer to the finish line as you correctly answer questions!
Benefits of Free Registration
Registration is ideal because, for one, it is free. In addition, your experience can be personalized by choosing a color, an animal, a number, and your country's flag to represent you during game play. Your icon will be shown each time you compete, as long as you log in first. Other benefits include being in the Tutpup Hall of Fame and having your own personal Win Wall. Registered players can also create games for others to join. A parent e-mail address must be entered when registering. Shortly after registering, an e-mail will be sent to the parent requesting that the account be verified. Once your account is verified, you can log in to the site and start competing!
Tutpup in the Classroom
Tutpup.com is a great way to reinforce skills taught in the classroom. Teachers may register for a teacher account which gives them access to helpful tools such as student management and class reports. Students must enter a class code provided by the teacher in order to appear in the teacher's dashboard. Students do not need a parent e-mail address to register if they have a class code. Tutpup really brings out the competitiveness among the students. Teachers could have a contest to see who can get the most number of wins, or let the students mark on a world map the locations of their competitors!
