Gapminder - Visualize World Development

Gapminder enables you to make sense of the world by having fun with animated diagrams that displays world development over the last 40 years. Analyze income, military budgets, Internet users per 1000 people and many more parameters.

The default diagram displays life expectancy on the Y axis and child mortality on the X axis, but you can change it to display other parameters. Drag the arrow on the timeline to animate the diagram and see how things change over time.

This amazing tool can really help students grasp how the world has changed over time, making some countries poorer, and other richer.

You might want to have a look at the FAQ and the tutorial.

More data and also some downloadable diagrams are available at http://www.gapminder.org.
