In BBC's online typing school Dance Mat Typing, you meet a cartoon goat and other cool, exotic animated animals that help you learn typing. A fun way for kids to learn keyboarding!

Dancemat typing is aimed at children aged 7-11 years. It is divided into four levels, each with three stages. In each stage, two or more keys on the keyboard are introduced.

You can run the exercises in a full-screen version. There are also printable typing worksheets that can be used for offline keyboard practice.

Actually, I find the characters highly annoying but as I am not in the child category, this might not be surprising. How about creating a similar typing programme for adults. I work with elderly people and they struggle with learning anything, but many of them want to get in touch with modern technology. This programme is (mostly) good but not for the age-range I am interested in. Do you think the BBC could alter this situation please so that the older generation may be treated with equality as the young? I do hope so, and thank you in hope of hearing about a programme one day. Many thanks Shirley Davis

the game does teach me to type, but the animals and characters are kind of annoying.

This dance mat typing is an awesome way to learn how to type fast.My sister already knows how to write tyranasoarus in 10 seconds!!!!!! ;)
