Breathing Earth - Real Time CO2 Emissions Simulation
The Breathing Earth is a Flash visualization of world population growth, births, deaths and carbon emissions. A great starting point for discussions with kids about the climate change.
|
The map simulation visualizes in real time how many people are born, how many people die, and how many tonnes of CO2 are emitted in coutries all over the world. This greenhouse effects simulation was created by David Bleja.
From the website:
We can greatly lessen our impact on climate change by using the planet's resources more responsibly. There are many things we can reduce, and many ways we can reduce them, but three of the major ones are: reduce the amount of animal products you consume (meat, dairy, eggs, leather, etc.), reduce the amount of fuel you use (car, air travel, etc.), and reduce the amount of electricity you use.
Scroll down on the main page of the Breathing Earth website for some good links about what you can do to reduce your carbon footprint.
