Free Internet Browsers for Kids: KidZui.com, Kidoz.net and More!In this day and age, we should all be concerned about the content children and students have access to on the Internet. Parents, as well as technology teachers, should have a hand in teaching children to be safe while surfing the web. However, no matter how hard we try to prevent it, children still manage to stumble upon inappropriate content or images. How can this be avoided short of monitoring your child's every move while on the computer? Enter KidZui.com and Kidoz.net: free web browsers built specifically with the safety of children in mind. |
KidZui.com- More than a Million Places to Explore
KidZui (pronounced kid-ZOO-ee) is one of the most popular Internet browsers for kids aged 3-12 years old. Its features include games, websites, pictures, and YouTube videos, all of which have been tested and approved by parents. Kids can create a personalized Zui, or avatar, and even share links and images with parent-approved friends. Another great feature of the KidZui.com browser is the parent account capabilities. These include e-mailed reports, the ability to add individual websites such as school websites or family blogs, and a graph of online activity by family members for the last 30 days. While all of these features are free, there is also the option to upgrade your membership for $7.95 a month. With the paid membership, parent reports become more detailed and children unlock additional features as they explore.
Kidoz.net- Safe, Easy, and Fun Internet for Kids
Kido'z is a newly released kid browser that allows children to surf websites, play games, and watch videos in a protected environment. A great component of this browser is that it blocks links and ads which often lead children to sites that are unsafe. The Kidoz.net browser has very little text and focuses more on images, so it is designed with younger children in mind. There are 3 areas for your child to explore: Games, Websites, and Videos. Games immediately begin in the browser window with one click. Website previews display main characters such as Mickey Mouse and Dora the Explorer for easy access to your child's favorite site. The videos, all of which come from YouTube, are indexed into channels that include Science, Babies, Fun, Animals, and many more. Kidoz.net is completely free with no option to upgrade. More sites are frequently being added and soon you will be able to add custom sites.
